About

Kofo Nolla-Omidiran, also known as O'Knolla, is a British-Nigerian artist and designer based in West London.

“My art is a celebration of culture, history, and storytelling, rooted in my Nigerian heritage and inspired by ancient visual languages such as Nsibidi and Uli patterns.

Nsibidi is more than just a writing system; it’s a visual code packed with history, identity, and a little bit of mystery. Uli patterns, traditionally created by Igbo women, also influence my work through their fluid, expressive, and symbolic linework.

These systems were ways for communities to communicate, connect, and express shared narratives through mark-making.

I see my work as a playful remix of that legacy. The markings I create aren’t exact translations, but modern interpretations of something ancestral - flowing through me in ways that feel both subconscious and intentional.

It’s part spiritual vibration, part creative release, and all about blending tradition with a modern twist.

My art invites interpretation. You decide what the symbols mean. Maybe one sparks a memory, feels spiritual, or simply catches your eye in a way you can’t explain.

It’s open. It’s playful. It’s meant to be explored, felt, and reimagined in your own way.”
